On Tuesday night, 2/19/19, the Kushner Cobras came to Frisch to challenge the Cougars in the Varsity hockey quarter-finals. Kushner entered the game coming off of a huge first round OT win in Rambam with the hopes of continuing their momentum into the quarterfinals. The Frisch Cougars came into this game as the first seed in the west with a record of 14-0. The game started off strong for the cougars, with 2 goals on the first two shifts. The first from Captain Josh Levine just 1:24 into the game, and the second coming from the dynamic Alter-Eisner line, that came one-timed off the stick of Jason Alter. Kushner answered back with a rocket from Drew Rabinowitz on a great feed from Captain Jakey Kluger. And with just 3.3 seconds left in the first, the Cougars struck for a third time, this time from Sammy Penn. The second period was a strong defensive showing by both goalie: Nathan Orbach and Isaac Markovitz. The only goal of the period was scored by Elliot Eisner, unassisted off the faceoff. In the third, Frisch would tack on two more, the first by Jason Alter, his second of the game, and the final coming from Jonah Rubin off a nice pass from Gabe Einhorn to give the Cougars a 6-1 victory. Frisch will now host the East #2 seed, HAFTR Hawks, in the Semi-finals next monday.
