The Stars came out ready to play and on fire. They got a quick early goal from defenseman Jack Hadar and soon after another goal from Aytan Silverman to take an early 2-0 lead. The Sting came on with lots of pressure but Marc Segelman held his ground keeping the Stars up 2-0. In the second period Aytan Silverman would get another 2 goals to complete the natural hat trick and the first hat trick in Stars playoff history giving them a 4-0 lead. Quickly after that goal the Sting would get one back to make it 4-1. Into the 3rd period the Sting mount lots of pressure with tons of shots but with help from Andrew Sender and Charles Greszes, Segelman was able to keep the ball out of the net keeping it a 3 goal game. Towards the later half of the 3rd the Sting pull there goalie for the extra attacker and quickly make it a 2 goal game. With about 3:30 left on the clock they would pull the goalie again but this time the Stars would get the empty netter and would add another empty netter to make it 6-2 victory at home and the first place Stars will move onto the semis.
